Spiritual and Carnal Thinking Part - 23 Rom 8:1- 2 -- There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Before we understood the Word of God, we always thought that Satan was the cause of all our problems. We blamed him for tempting us to commit sin. We believed that God for some reason or the other was not answering our prayer. But this is not true because Jesus whipped Satan completely 2000 years ago and took away all his authority. Reading and studying the Bible will make us understand that God is on our side and neither He nor His Word ever fails. Hosea 4: 6 states My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge and this is exactly what occurred in our lives before we understood the power in the Word of God. What we really need to do is to make a commitment to be doers of the Word of God, thereby activating the law of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ over the law of sin and death. We need to ask Gods forgiveness for believing that He was not answering our prayers. We need to train our mind to understand study, believe, speak and subsequently act according to the Word of God. When our minds are in spiritual mode, our thinking will be in accordance with the Word of God and we will live a life of peace. To be carnally minded is to walk in the direction of destruction and death. In todays world, we find God speaking His Word to us through various modes like radio, television, internet, live retreats etc and each and every one of these preachings exhort us to renew our minds according to the Word of God. In our lives we are carnally minded in certain areas and we end up sinning repeatedly. For example anger is a very destructive feeling experienced by many of us. If we repeatedly confess the scripture I overcome evil with good and believe that every word coming out of our mouth is activating the law of spirit and life in Christ Jesus and setting us free from this anger, then surely we will be free. In Deut 20:4 we have a promise that the Lord our God is He who goes with us, to fight for us against our enemies, to save us.; if we treat that weakness (anger) as our enemy then surely God will set us free, but we have to open our mouth and confess the scripture and activate the law of Spirit of life in Jesus Christ. ----------- Lets try to be open to Gods word, and open to the Lords surprises when he speaks to us -- Pope Francis
