Spirituality means waking up. Most people, even though they - TopicsExpress

Spirituality means waking up. Most people, even though they don’t know it, are asleep. They’re born asleep, they live asleep, they marry in their sleep, they breed children in their sleep, they die in their sleep without ever waking up. They never understand the loveliness and the beauty of this thing that we call human existence. You know, all mystics—Catholic, Christian, non-Christian, no matter what their theology, no matter what their religion—are unanimous on one thing: that all is well, all is well. Though everything is a mess, all is well. Strange paradox, to be sure. But, tragically, most people never get to see that all is well because they are asleep. They are having a nightmare. …..Anthony De Mello My objective in posting some of the things I post is to help people wake up to their powerful inner strengths and intrinsic good or Godness; apart from entrenched religious stagnations which seem to be the most spiritually debilitating habits of human culture and consciousness. People are not so much blind as blindfolded by hyper fear-based theologies that literally paralyze their souls. The awakening has begun and there is a global shift in thinking and in new ways of being. You dont have to abandon your religious moorings, just transcend them, so they no longer define or confine your essence or essential being. We miss so much of our personal freedom, power and global comradery by segregating our gods into competitive models, modes and modalities. Can you perceive God without fear, dogma, judgement, even doctrine? Can the ultimate reality we call God be experienced and expressed beyond institutional religious structurings? I believe IT not only can, but must, in order for us to experience our fuller inner valors and virtues as humanity. What say you?
