Spoke with a potential adopter on the phone and she had one dog and one that recently passed away. Neither had seen a vet for vaccines or heartworm test/prevention for 4 yrs. I informed her that we could not approve her application. She got very nasty and yelled that they are very good pet owners and have 1/2 million dollar home on acreage, then said guess we will just have to buy a puppy. I calmly suggested some lower cost hw prevention, she says cost is not a factor, then why havent they been on prevention? Because our vet never suggested it. Is it possible he would have if you had taken them to the vet in the last 4 yrs ? She hung up on me! Diana M. Bates you will love this one!!!
