You are all those to my one and only son. You are those to all 10 of his teammates. I know I am going to be in trouble for posting this but folks need to know what I have known for years. You love all the boys you coach. You talk about what they have taught you but think of what you have taught them. You dont just help them become better ballplayers, but better young men. On the day Haydens Poppaw went to be with Jesus, you took a team of 12 & 13 year olds, had them lay their hands on Hayden, and led them in a prayer for a brokenhearted little boy. You drove 2 plus hours to be with Hayden as we celebrated Poppaws life. Then you helped coach that amazing team to a State Championship. There were no kid-gloves for Hayden, you held him accountable for his play and attitude throughout, just as a top-notch coach does. I will forever be grateful that you have pushed him to work harder, respect the game more, and become more of a leader. Simply put I am so thankful for your friendship and for your coaching of Hayden on and off the field.
