(SportsNetwork) - The Los Angeles Lakers will seek a winning record on this short road trip Friday night when they visit The Palace of Auburn Hills to meet the Detroit Pistons. The Lakers are 1-1 on a short trip east. They fell in Washington D.C. to the Wizards on Tuesday, but held on for a win at the Barclays Center over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. Fridays tilt in Motown ends their brief sojourn. Against the Nets, the Lakers built a 16-point lead after one quarter, and were 27 points ahead at one point. The Nets fought back and Paul Pierce had an uncontested look at a 3-pointer late that wouldve tied it, but didnt fall. The win was the Lakers fourth in five games. Nick Young led all scorers with 26 points. I thought Nick Young hit some huge shots, Lakers head coach Mike DAntoni said. He played really well to kind of get us out of our funk. Pau Gasol added 21 points, followed by 15 from Jordan Farmar and 11 by Jodie Meeks. Jordan Hill pulled down 12 rebounds and Shawne Williams grabbed 10 boards. Steve Blake handed out 10 assists, which was the sixth time in eight games he had double-digit helpers. The Pistons saw two-game winning streak disappear Wednesday night when the Chicago Bulls came to Motor City and left with a 99-79 victory. The lakers won four of the last five games at the Palace. -kb24
