Sri Lanka Video—Development of a Government Shrimp Farming Project This 13-minute video reports on the construction of a 120-acre shrimp farm in the Batticaloa District of eastern Sri Lanka by V.V. Karunaratne and Company. The International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations, funded the $1 million project under its Post Tsunami Livelihood Support Program. The video shows the development of the project while it was under construction and discusses problems incurred during construction. It will benefit 26 shrimp farmers.
