The one-year course in Print, Broadcast and New Media Journalism focuses on skills needed for immediate employment in the print, broadcast and new media field. Classroom sessions and workshops on journalistic tools and techniques are followed by daily practice of the craft. Apart from classroom sessions, the students plan, prepare and produce a lab journal, the Dateline Bangalore. They are also given training in recording news broadcast (Radio & Television). The students undergo a four week internship in different media organizations, complementing the SSCMS training programme by the practical application of their skills in a professional environment. Admission procedure • Download and print the application form (from sscms.org/admissionpolicy.html) • Fill in the application form including the three essay questions, as mentioned in the form. • Send the filled in application form along with the following: • Three essays • Photocopy of mark sheets of 10thStd, 12th Std and Graduation. Photocopy of Degree certificate also to be enclosed. • A Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 500/- to be drawn in favor of Sri Sri Centre for Media Studies payable at Bangalore. • A telephone interview will be scheduled by SSCMS on receipt of the above mentioned documents. • An admission letter will be sent to the selected candidates. Grading / Exams During the course of an academic year, continuous internal assessment is done based on the assignments, projects and the involvement and performance of the students. An aggregate grading is reflected on the students final standing in the PGD Program. Exams shall be conducted at the end of each term and the final term exam will be during the month of July 2015. ¬Attendance, behaviour and general discipline will have due weightage in the final result. Convocation The convocation will be held everyyearin the month of July/ August when successful graduates will receive their PG Diploma Certificate in Print, Broadcast and Online Media Journalism.
