Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education today ruled out mass promotion and decided to hold the annual examinations for class 10th and 12th of Kashmir Divisionon time. The examinations of class10th and 12th(regular candidates) will be held well in time and there will be no masspromotion, a spokesman of the Board said. He said the decision was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for Education and Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohammad Syeed here today. The spokesman said threadbare discussions were held with regard tovarious issues and it was decided that the datefor submission of admission-cum-examination forms for the classes 10th and 12th regular candidates of Kashmir Division has been extended up to September 14. The meeting also decided thatthere will besingle paper scheme for the two classes. However, there will be amplechoice to the students in coming Secondaryand Higher Secondary annual examinationfor Kashmirdivision, he added. Peerzada appealed to the parents not to payheed to the rumours regarding mass promotion of students andsend their wards to schools regularly in order tocomplete the syllabus. He also directed the teachingand non-teaching staff for conducting extra classes.
