St. Louis River Alliance Seeks Volunteers for Annual River Clean Up to be held Saturday, May 17 from 9:00 am to 1:00pm. The St. Louis River Alliance is seeking volunteers to help out with its annual river cleanup on Saturday, May 17 from 9:00 -1:00pm. This year’s location will be the Western Waterfront Trail starting at Munger Landing and railroad tracks, Kingsbury Creek, and Striker Bay Creek to eastern portion of Western Waterfront Trail in Duluth. The Alliance is seeking individuals and groups to help out with this annual event. Volunteers can show up in the Western Waterfront Trail parking lot behind the Munger Inn. The Inn is located at 7408 Grand Ave Duluth. Follow the signs for River Cleanup on Pulaski St. back to the parking lot. Volunteers may sign up for one, two or four hours. They should wear work clothes and bring gloves if they have them. A limited number of gloves will be provided. Hip boots are also recommended for those who wish to tackle the removal of items from the water near shore. Drinking water will be provided. Interested individuals and organizations may contact the St. Louis River Alliance to find out more about volunteering for this clean up effort.
