Stampedes and Cultural Fervor : 27 yrs down the ages and again I happen to be Part of Pooja celebrations in Patna again . The Socio- religious aspect of it is rather unchanged , the warmth with which people participate , the loud loud-speakers from all corners banging ears and still enjoyment increasing every single minute. One peculiar trend which was noticed - --earlier one felt devoted enough to bow his/her head before Devi , having prasad and feeling blessed and now , people stand with Devi , get a family photograph together and feeling the part of Gods kingdom . Let sociologists better interpret this social change . Patna has mushrooming population and increasingly making mockery of Civic amenities as if no system exists especially around Pooja festivities . A big catastroph visited as Stampede in Gandhi Maidan , where people gathered for burning Ravan of their heart and what they got in return - Ravan of systematic failure hurting and consuming them . Railway station on 2nd october got a view of Clean the nation drive , what i hope is , this should continue with still more force and all parts of city and state by all public representatives should be involved and not that all faces coming together at one place and getting photographed as a group . The Science department of B N College which infused science in me as the very basic platform to grow from there , henceforth is fighting itself with open defaecation , about to fall buildings and education --probably remains more on paper and in theory and practically it seems without students visiting them . Growing through the ages , what has made all of us aware , we learn to deal with all situations , low or high , and still come out with flying colours , only hoping - if the things were better !!! Let our collective wisdom re-visit to make socio- religious fanfare more contributory to living with harmony , stampedes better avoided and better managed and we all coming out of our threshold and own responsibilities to make things better wherever our sentiments are attached . I assure of myself for the cause and i seek all to join hands . Vande Matram .
