Star Light.....Star Bright.... Please dont let me melt tonight.... Hi, this is Diane, Noah and Davids mom. Noah as been sick witht the flu for the past several days. He is on the road to recovery. Noah asked me if I would write something on his page today. I feel honored. Thanks Noah! I want to take this moment to tell you that you are an amazing son and big brother. We love you! It is 45 degrees this afternoon here in Nappanee. David has been begging to go outside and have a snowball fight since snow has been on the ground. Unfortunately, we havent be able to allow it, the bitter cold temps trigger his asthma. Of course his all-time favorite snowball fight scene in a movie is on Elf when Buddy whips the snowballs at the bullies. He literally laughs out loud everytime that scene comes on. Today was the perfect day to grant his wish! David and I bundled up and out we went. Dont forget that I had mentioned that it is somewhat warmer today. When you make a snowball in this weather, the snowballs end up becoming lead balls, or at least they feel as if they were. After a minute or two of being pelted with them, I convinced David that the yard needed snow art. ;) He rolled a large ball and started adding to it. He created a pig. Not only a pig, but a pig he could ride. Again, from one of his favorite movies, Pets to the Rescue. He then moved on to his snowman. He was sure the snowman would get chilly not being clothed, so he put a jacket on it. I love how this child thinks! Years ago, Davids sensory processing could not process temperature regulations. He could go outside underdressed, and not sense he was cold, therefore we had to be careful and watchful of him. Over the years, routine has taught him what he needs to wear to prepare for the elements. Sometime between then and now, he is now able to process when it is hot and when it is cold, and the correct attire he needs to wear. David and I enjoyed our time together outside today creating memories in the snow. Now if we can get Betsy to stop barking at the snow stranger with the red jacket on in our front yard, well be set! ;-)
