StarTimes adds new sports channel Digital Terrestrial Television operator, StarTimes, has added another sports channel to its bouquet with the introduction of Star Sport 2 on Tuesday. The channel is dedicated to airing a variety of sports on the pay-tv platform. Public Relations Manager of the NTA-Star Network, Irete Anetor, said the new channel has a rich, diverse and global outlook aimed at meeting the teeming needs of current and prospective customers, who are constantly searching for rich sports content. “It will offer our sports inclined viewers a diverse range of sports like soccer, tennis, golf, rugby, car-racing, cricket and extreme sports. The content of Star Sport 2 will include live broadcasts and highlights, sports news, sports programs, sports movies and exercise education,” he said. He added that football lovers would have a lot to watch out for on the channels in the following weeks as StarTimes has the rights to air some competitions. StarTimes will air the Guinness International Champions Cup and the European qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2016 on the new channel. The Guinness International Cup, which starts on July 25 (today), will feature Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City , AC Milan, Liverpool and seven other top teams in Europe.
