Stardate 45710.3. While on our way to starbase 420 for scheduled R&R, the Enterprise received a distress call from the Camp sector of Belgradia 4. The camp sector is inhabited by fun loving, recreation oriented humanoids, known as Mainahs. Lt. Commander Data: "Sir, our sensors indicate their has been a major atmospheric upheaval in the northeastern quadrant of the planet, resulting in a 99% reduction in the available sunlight. By my calculations, without a reversal in the present conditions, the Mainahs will lose their general ability to reason in 7 hours, 42minutes, and 14 seconds." Capt. Picard: "recommendations?" Lt. Worf: " perhaps a multi phase, reverse polarity photon torpedo aimed directly into the center of the vortex could reverse the atmospheric spin, and return the area to normal conditions." Councillor Troy: "captain...what if we were to beam down mass quantities of various carbonated beverages? That might slow down the effects, and give us more time to study the problem."
