Stars cannot shine without darkness... Its hard to embrace our darkest moments, in the journey of life, but what many have yet to realize is our moments of darkness, amidst the wilderness, bring forth the greatest shine within. You see, stars are always there beyond the clouds... Whether day or night, theyre never gone. Though we cannot physically see them, in light, theyre constant. Its all about perspective... What we cannot see throughout the day, becomes visually enhanced at night. The darkness brings forth a glow that radiates brighter than weve seen before and the beauty, in that, makes the hours of darkness worth the absence of light... Its almost, as if, in that moment everything is still and a beauty emanates that our eyes hadnt seen amid the light. And, it was then that I realized, this is exactly how God works through us... Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her. Hosea 2:14 Life is an adventure and the wilderness, though quite tasking, is the time, in which, we find ourselves. And even, sometimes, we are led there by God to be reminded that even in the darkness his light burns bright. He knows us all too well; God knows that we are more apt to listen when life gets dark. When we are lost, lonely, depressed, frustrated and at the end of our rope... Sometimes when we are walking in our own light, so to speak, and life is going well we forget to sit still and listen to the word of God and his movement in our lives. Why? We get busy and when life is going our way we allow our sense of control lead rather than HIS light... Sometimes we are led to the wilderness, in the darkest of places, by God and other times our choices lead us under that cloud of darkness but, always, whether we are led by God or our choices, his light shines brighter. And, in the darkness, he brings forth greater understanding, his will and the beauty of his unrelenting grace. In the depths of the dark and quiet desert his voice becomes clear and his light emanates brighter than the surrounding... After all many of Gods chosen ones found themselves upon the wilderness including the Israelites, Elijah, John the Baptist and even Jesus. However, God used their time, among the desert, to teach them, remind them, test them, guide them, humble their hearts, and mostly, speak into them. However, in the end, its our choice to redeem his grace and walk in his way... And our choice, very well, determines the length of our walk among the dry and desert land. So, when you find yourself amidst the dark, in the heart of the wilderness, remember, stars cannot shine without darkness... And, as always, his voice is near and his grace is unrelenting but, first, youll have to surrender to his will, his voice and his way. Only God can emanate a light within you that burns brighter than the depths of the night... You, first, have to trust him. Release control and find favor in faith. Embrace the dark, in understanding His will. Listen, with intent, to His small, still voice. His light shines brighter than the darkness, always...
