Started on finally cleaning my old Dodge pickup that I pulled the race car with yesterday. Hadn`t done much to it since my last race at Nationals. Other than the stuff that I sold Rusty L Gyles. Found a carburetor that I had been looking for, Took race bag into house to clean out. I had my race suit, shoes, helmet, gloves, tear offs, claim card for when I claimed someone`s shocks, etc. But I also found something more valuable in there I found a lot of laps run, a lot of joy, a lot of frustration, a lot of friendships made, a lot of friendships expanded, a few tears, a few moments of anger both me and other drivers at me, moments of smoothing things out by talking and a handshake, a few regrets but as Frank Sinatra sings Too few to mention, moments of Why do I even do this?, moments of Do I really want to quit?, and many more memories. So many things went thru my head in the few minutes it took me to sort everything out of bag. From the first lap to the last.
