Starting around 4:30 this afternoon while most people were heading home to be with there families the dedicated members of Elba FD were just starting their afternoon after a day of work. Members had a business drill which included checking/maintaining all trucks and equipment, followed by conducting routine business and then training exercises. Everyone finally wrapped things up and got home to their families and supper around 8:45 tonight. Theirs a lot more that goes into being a volunteer fireman that just showing up when called. Thank you to all the citizens, businesses for your support, and most of all families of members for your love and support on the long nights and missed time with you, to make it possible for us to be able to effectively and safely serve our community.
