Starting to prepare for a tincture making workshop Ill be - TopicsExpress

Starting to prepare for a tincture making workshop Ill be facilitating in London at UWO in a few weeks. Well be learning how to make an Echinacea glycerin tincture using fresh roots. I dug up some Echinacea from our garden and will start the tincture today so that there will be some ready for each participant to take home. Luckily they have some Echinacea growing in their garden, as well, so we will be able to go over the harvesting stage as well. Its a little bit earlier than I would normally harvest Echinacea, but want to have some ready for the workshop and if the predicted early snows become reality..... First, carefully dig up the roots, trying not to break any. If I see some smaller, younger plants mixed in, I carefully pull them out and replant. Next, spray off the roots to knock off the loose dirt and snip the stems off close to the roots.... These I will bring inside for further cleaning and onto the next stage....
