State: Council member breaks code of ethics August 29, 2014 By TORY IRWIN (tirwin@sungazette) JERSEY SHORE - A council member for Jersey Shore Borough was the subject of a state ethics investigation and found guilty of an ethics violation. Deborah Colocino, who has served as a councilwoman since January 2010 and currently is chairwoman of the finance committee, was found to have violated the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act after she used her authority to expedite payments to her husband for landscaping services he supplied to the borough and when she signed off on payments of bills that went to her husbands business. She also was cited for failure to file a Statement of Financial Interest for the 2009 calendar year, which is required of all borough council members. See todays Sun-Gazette for the full story.
