State Rep. Brett Hulsey (D-Madison) on why Wisconsin should reject Enbridges proposed pipeline expansion in the state: Given their bad pollution record and magnitude of the expansion, we should require an environmental impact statement to evaluate all the safety, human health, habitat destruction, and other threats that the application would cause. Expanding this line will likely cause health threats that include toxic cancer-causing air pollution venting, crude oil leaks and spills into Lake Superior, our drinking water sources, rivers, and lakes, threatened homes, businesses and property values in communities along the pipeline route. The record shows the foreign-owned Enbridge Pipeline Company is a proven polluter and law breaker.
