State of the Union facts: Robin Hood Taxes and “Free” College Head Fakes Obama says he’s soaking the rich to reward the middle class and provide two years of free college. But his plan would would actually tax middle class education savings plans, betraying those who believed the government, punishing those who tried to take responsibility for their family’s education. It’s another attempt to foster dependence on the state and incentive illegal immigration, especially for “dreamers” up to age 31. Only 16% of the world’s countries have a GDP bigger than Obama’s proposed tax increase of $320 Billion. According to the the White House: “FACT SHEET: A Simpler, Fairer Tax Code That Responsibly Invests in Middle Class Families”: “the President’s plan will roll back expanded tax cuts for 529 education savings plans that were enacted in 2001 for new contributions, and…repeal tax incentives going forward for the much smaller Coverdell education savings program.” Taxing 529 education accounts and repealing Coverdell Education Savings Accounts isn’t going after Bill Gates’ trust funds. The average 529 account is only $21,000. That’s not much money when you’re trying to pay for college. It’s not a Robin Hood agenda to rob the rich for the middle class as portrayed by Obama’s allies in the mainstream media. It’s the same old agenda of robbing the middle class making them dependent on government handouts and bank loans. Even the “free” college proclamation is a lie. Obama didn’t talk about any of the details in his speech but again, the details don’t match Obama’s rhetoric. The White House blog headline reads “The President Proposes to Make Community COllege Free for Responsible Students for 2 Years” but the document says: “Federal funding will cover three-quarters of the average cost of community college.” Trade & Internet Liberty Destroying Proposals Will Pass Obama’s tax and education proposals are head fakes for his base. They won’t pass. They’re just there to cover up his trade and internet proposals that will pass and will rightfully infuriate his base. Some liberal media have noticed Obama pushing fast track for the secret trade treaties being negotiated by multinational lobbyists. Huffington Post calls it “Schizophrenia” to talk about middle-class jobs and fast tracking TPP. It’s not schizophrenia, it’s simply lying. The Guardian says Obama is “ready to defy Democrats to push secretive trade deal”. Without a hint of sarcasm, the Guardian says “The Trans Pacific Partnership is a trade agreement so significant and important, its details can’t be disclosed.” The TPP goes far beyond “trade” and anything this “significant and important” must be transparent and debated in public. But elected representatives from all the countries involved can not even see the agreement. Fast track means they will have very little time to even read the bill, as has become standard procedure by both Pelosi and Boehner, and no changes will be allowed. The only thing we know about it is what has been leaked by Wikileaks. And that brings us to the comprehensive moves to control the internet. There is a multi-pronged attack on the free internet: • FCC Control • CISPA • New Felonies with an expanded CFAA • and the Trade Treaties themselves FCC control of the internet is being sold as a means of net neutrality. The FCC fought against neutrality before they were for it. Like scheming politicians, the FCC bureaucrats could care less about the issue and just using it to gain regulatory control of the internet. CISPA (Cyber Intelligence Sharing Protection Act) has been defeated twice. GOP leaders are desperate to get this passed and Obama has been talking about “intelligence sharing” continuously since the Sony “Interview” hack. As you are hopefully aware by now, corporations have been turning your data over to the government for some time now. The government calls this warrantless spying “intelligence sharing”. The “protection” part of CISPA is to protect the corporations from civil and criminal liability when they snitch on you. Aaron Swartz lead the opposition to CISPA before he died or was suicided. State and local prosecutors didn’t even indict Swartz for what many pointed out was not even a crime. But the federal prosecutor, in monumental prosecutorial abuse, was trying to sentence him to 35 years using CFAA (the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act). CFAA has already been characterized by the former White House Counselor for Privacy said that CFAA was excessive and redundant. But Obama and the GOP want to step it up. As Wired magazine reported, The White House proposal will quadruple the maximum possible sentence for some crimes from five years to 20. And where under current law some hacks are misdemeanors—specifically a first-time offense that doesn’t involve credit cards or more than $5,000 in information—those crimes will now be felonies. Additionally, CFAA violations would qualify for prosecution under the mob-busting RICO statute, meaning, for example, if a member of Anonymous is busted in a petty denial-of-service attack, she might now be held legally accountable for every cybercrime Anonymous has committed. As others have warned, even beneficial white-hat hackers could be prosecuted as criminals. A white-hat who publishes information about a software vulnerability (so that the public is warned and the developer can fix it) could be prosecuted if someone commits a crime by exploiting that vulnerability whether or not they learned of it from the white-hat. The secret trade agreements will likely export elements of bad American laws like CISPA and CFAA internationally. So if you want to know the real “State of the Union,” it’s an Orwellian surveillance state that’s been taken over by criminal cartels.
