Statement No. 14 from the [Free Syrian Army] Revolutionary - TopicsExpress

Statement No. 14 from the [Free Syrian Army] Revolutionary Military Council in Quneitra and the Golan In the name of God the Merciful Fighters in Quneitra governorate are being denied military and material support by the coalition and the FSA Chiefs of Staff under the pretext of their facing difficulties with the situation in the province, while the Assad regime continues to marginalise the province and its people. This is severely weakening the ability of the fighters on the ground, meaning that they are trapped between the regime and its shabiha [pro-regime paramilitaries] on the one hand and the failure by the coalition and Chiefs of Staff to support them on the other. Please note that regime forces are currently cutting off all roads and entries leading to liberated areas in Quneitra in preparation for storming the area and attempting to eradicate the resistance forces in the province. Based on this fact, the Revolutionary Military Council in Quneitra is hereby raising the alarm and seeks to communicate that the situation is critical, and that the regime is attempting to: 1. Prevent all new progress on the ground by revolutionary forces. 2. Dismantle all FSA checkpoints and surround the villages in the province. 3. Extend the period of suffering and siege for the people of the province. 4. Pursue a policy of further restrictions and mass punishment of the people of the region, further intensifying their suffering, while misleading the people to believe that the revolution is the cause of their suffering. Due to the aforementioned facts, the Revolutionary Military Council in Quneitra has the following options: 1. To appeal to all revolutionary combatants from Damascus city and province and other provinces to come to Quneitra to help liberate the province from the Assadi enemies, which could lead to weaknesses in some locations in those other provinces. 2. To use fighters from other bodies than the Revolutionary Military Council who have a desire to come and defend the province and possibly be martyred here. We note that the Revolutionary Military Council is wholly serious about working to achieve whichever of these strategies will result in meeting our objectives, to protect and liberate our territory. The Revolutionary Military Council, as always, affirms its commitment to maintaining international treaties and conventions. Long live free Syria and victory to our blessed revolution.
