Statement by Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson regarding the Liberal Sudbury Nomination “The announcement today that MP Glenn Thibeault will be the Liberal candidate in the Sudbury by-election says a lot about the values of Kathleen Wynne and the Liberal party. They are willing to allegedly bribe a lifelong Liberal to make way for a turncoat MP who is more interested in his own career than the people of Sudbury. The Liberal nomination was already tainted by allegations of bribery, and now it’s further tainted by the fact that Glenn Thibeault put his career ahead of the people of Sudbury. To put it bluntly, this is cynical politicking. Glenn Thibeault should immediately step down as an MP, stop collecting a federal MP’s salary and ensure he does not use any MP resources for his campaign. As a northerner and a New Democrat, I’m deeply disappointed in Glenn Thibeault.
