Statement of Faith March 25, 2014 “But this I do admit to you: I worship the God of our fathers in accordance with the Way (which they call a sect). I continue to believe everything that accords with the Torah and everything written in the Prophets. And I continue to have a hope in God - which they too accept - that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Indeed, it is because of this that I make a point of always having a clear conscience in the sight of both God and man.” (Acts 24:14-16) Messianic Judaism is the sovereign move of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). It is the restorative movement that seeks to recover the lost sheep of the whole house of Israel while at the same time being the redemptive light to the Gentile nations. It is a congregational movement in which those who hear and embrace the Besorah (Good News) of Yahshua, the Messiah, in a Hebraic context, continue in the customs and traditions after receiving the Messiah (2 Thessalonians 3:6-7). Messianic Judaism is a prophetic, end-time phenomenon and acknowledges the fulfillment of the B’rit Chadashah (Renewed Covenant) between YHWH (God) and His people, that is, those that make up Israel as promised by the God of Israel through the prophet Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) in the Holy Scriptures (Jeremiah 31:31-34). We believe in one God, YHWH, as He has revealed Himself in the Scriptures. “Hear, O Israel, YHWH our God, YHWH is One.” (Deuteronomy 6:4) We believe that Yahshua is the Son of God, the Messiah, the Eternal One in whom all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, and who is the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us, and whose glory we beheld, the glory of the uniquely begotten Son of God, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1–14; Colossians 2:9) We believe that the Ruach (Spirit) of God comforts, teaches, leads, indwells, and empowers all whom God regenerates. (Acts 9:31; 1 John 2:27; John 16:13; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 2 Timothy 1:7) We believe that the Scriptures, both the Tanach (Old Testament) and the Renewed Covenant (New Testament), are the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16–17) We believe that all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) We believe Yahshua’s death and resurrection accomplished the atonement for all who place their faith in Him. Whoever trusts in God, in His work alone, is made a new creation in Yahshua, indwelt by the Ruach (Spirit) of God, and is transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His Son. (Ephesians 2:8–9, Romans 5, 6) We believe in justification by faith through the grace of God alone, and not by human efforts. One may not earn, merit or keep this eternal salvation by his own efforts. A new creation is the work of God alone. (Ephesians 2:8–10; Romans 8:29–39) We believe in the spiritual unity and equality of all believers in Yahshua the Messiah. (Ephesians 2:11–22; Ephesians 3:1-13) We believe in the continuity of God’s covenants with the people of Israel (Jeremiah 31:35–36 and parallel passages). Part of the fulfillment of these covenants is the physical return of the people of Israel to their promised Land. (Deuteronomy 30 and Ezekiel 36 & 37) We believe that all true Gentiles who trust in Yahshua the Messiah are grafted into Israel and thus become Israel. They are full and equal participants in the covenants and heirs of the promise. (Ephesians 2:12; Galatians 3:29; Romans 11:11–24; Isaiah 56:3,6-7; Jeremiah 31:33) We believe that Yahshua the Messiah will reunite, by physically gathering together, both houses of Israel at His second coming. Being regathered, they forever become one nation under their King. (Isaiah 11:12-16; Ezekiel 37:15-22; Ezekiel 39:25-29; John 10:11-16; Matthew 24:29-31) We believe that the Torah is the revelation of the righteousness of God and a description (along with the rest of Scripture) of the lifestyle of the redeemed community. (Matthew 5:17–19; 2 Timothy 3:16–17) We believe that as the Torah was the foundation of the Tanakh (Old Testament), it also is the foundation of the Renewed Covenant (New Testament) promised to be inaugurated by Yahshua the Messiah to both houses of Israel. (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:6-12) We believe in the literal, physical return of Yahshua the Messiah to rule and reign upon the throne of David in Jerusalem over the entire world. We hold to a post-tribulation view of His second coming. (Zechariah 14; Matthew 24:23-31; Revelation 19–20) Mike Oyler 1 Like
