Remember Anthony Weiner? Of course you do. He’s the one who sent lewd messages to a woman of his genitals, causing a media storm frenzy. And what did the Republicans (and some spineless) Democrats do? They called on him to resign from Congress. And what did Weiner do? With dignity, he resigned from Congress. That’s a Democrat. Now let’s take a look at Steve Scalise. He takes his time to speak to a white supremacist group, compares himself to such a supremacist (without the racist part). What does the GOP say? Nothing. They pat him on the back, says “eh, everyone makes mistakes,” and accuses the Democrats of race-baiting. Earnest (White House press secretary) is right, this Scalise scandal really shows GOP values and priorities at their finest. And the GOP aide response—“The White House piling on Rep. Scalise is awfully short-sighted. As House Republican whip, Scalise will play a crucial role in determining the fate of the President’s bipartisan legislative priorities — like trade — over the next two years.”
