Statistic=Challenge Accepted. If you have ever been given one that applies directly to your life you understand this. There is an inner beast that arises from somewhere you never knew existed and does things you never thought possible. 10 years ago today I received a phone call that all those ever diagnosed with cancer hope to receive, that my cancer was in remission. When you hear those words it is a world stopping for a moment, you confirm your name and that the doctor’s office meant to call you because in some way you still doubted yourself. Ironically the exact same world stopping moment and clarification process happens when you receive the call that you have cancer. I have been blessed beyond words and grace that I can say that I am a 10 year cancer survivor. Many of us know loved ones fighting with every fiber of their soul to reach this goal and then there are many loved ones that fought with every fiber as well yet the Lord needed them as angels. There are questions we will never have answered, meanings we will never understand, anger and brokenness that will need more years to heal. It doesn’t mean we get to give up and throw in the towel, it means we keep fighting for better, positive changes and more effective ways to bring awareness in the world. All this so that cancer is something only talked about in history books as a statistic that we as whole overcame. This song along with many others is one that got me “amped” before, during and after chemo treatments. I hope that in the daily and sometimes lifetimes of hardships that are given to each of you that “you won’t back down” ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. Cheers! Keep kicking cancers butt!
