Statistic and claims bother me........... Statistics and claims are used in many ways, one would hope they would help to bring truth to peoples eyes, yet they are just another way for deceit to enter in to an equation. Let me give you an example......... 100 or 1000 men participated in a study. (Mind you its important to know where these men live and what kind of an environment influences them.) Second thing you must keep in mind is what kind of questions where asked during the study. (My favorite one is ....He so have you stopped beating you wife lately) Your answer here is a lose lose! 30% of these men say they yell at their partners (it doesnt say in anger) 60% of these men own guns ( heaven forbid a hunter own a gun or man want to defend his family) 25% if these men say they go have a drink after fighting with their wives (it doesnt say they get drunk, or violent) 50% of these men are keeping a secret from their wives (yeah I dont tell my old man what hes getting for Christmas or his birthday either) Now from this survey you would generally see a closing statement about what these answers mean. So in this case it would say something like, the percentages show that most men are deceitful and prone to violence. (Guess what it probably said 98% of men love their wives, but they dont show you that part) So the next time someone throws some statistics, claims and percentages in your face youd better think twice before you just follow along on someone elses manipulated point of view. There are to many people that have been abused by the one sided statistics and next time it could be you.
