Status Update By Howard Fisher Today’s post may give you some insight into research. It will also give you the blatant evidence that we are not dealing with conjecture. This is evidence based science and makes up the bulk of my reading. Convenience and the average western diet are leading us down a path that heads right over a cliff: metabolic syndrome (obesity, inflammation, diabetes and coronary heart disease) and early death. Diabetes has become an American epidemic. Rest assured that Moringa oleifera and metabolic syndrome would be an easy lecture topic to show just how effective this phyto-nutrient dense plant is but these postings are the Race to Summit special and take hours to compile and I will leave them as topics for my lectures). One of the most available areas for us to intervene and bring this potential crisis to a screeching halt is in serum glucose levels. Let me give to you in a nutshell. Currently in the US there are approximately 26.1 million diabetics and many of them have no idea that they are diabetic. Best estimates suggest that by 2050 there will be 130 million diabetics which suggests that this problem is out of control to such an extent that they have created a new category: pre-diabetic. There are now 79 million prediabetics in America. This was the solution that was put forth. With no sign of being able to change this downward spiral to diabetes they merely created a new category. They have given up. You have just been handed the ball. Here are the other factors. In 1950, 25% of the US population was overweight or obese which escalated to 70% by 2012. Out of that 70%, there were 37% who were obese. I am forced to use the past tense because by 2015 the sources in the know indicate that 75% of the population will be overweight or obese and a staggering 41% will be obese. Although linear thinking has labelled this epidemic unstoppable (as indicated by their projections), those who venture outside the box such as Drs. Gabriel Cousens, Debbie Drake and myself believe otherwise and can prove it. Over eighty-five percent of Type 2 Diabetics have virtually created the disease themselves and we know how to affect it. There is a solution as simple as giving your body the nutrition that it needs in a raw format and breaking the cycle. Moringa oleifera can change the face of health for the nation by affecting serum glucose levels and so many other physiological parameters. Diabetes. Cousens G. There Is a Cure for Diabetes.
