Status Update on Step-dad in critical condition: Hes had a 2nd blood transfusion today. Congested lung. Aortic valve may not be opening and closing properly, causing a back flow of blood and a fluid overload. Blood volume seems to be low. Lasek was given to expel excess fluid. Our major concerns are: Fever up to 103, BP dips, SOB especially after any kind of movement, BNP indicative of heart issues, low blood volume and additional heart murmurs. This is after an echo and Doppler. The attending used the terms potential heart failure ... Time will tell.
