Stay focused... I rarely voice my opinion on Facebook. I usually try to post articles that provoke deeper thought, hoping to start a new dialog. However, today is different. A lot has gone on in 2014, both for me personally and the world in general. Do not let the media distract you and determine what your lunch conversation will be. The police have killed so many unarmed black men this year. Yet we have spent the last week arguing about Ray Rice. The look away. They dont want you to focus on the killings!!! They just announced on NBCs morning show, that Michael Brown had his hands up when he was shoot. Actually they said there was video proving his hands were up, but they didnt show it or discuss it. Why? But we have listen to everybody that gets on tv condemn ray rice. And whether ray was right on wrong is not the issue. The issue is why is it so important that it had dominated the media weeks? Yet, we are about to war again. And no resolution has come in any of the unarmed black men murders. You see, as peoples outrage and disgust grows with law enforcement, they find it necessary to distract you with somethg less important. Domestic violence is no joke. I dont take it lightly or condone it. But to let it dominate the media in light of all the REAL news going on??? Why? They fear us uniting. Not just black or white but all citizens. They fear that we have had enough, and released that Rice tape to help distract us. The Look Away. Now, we are arguing about how a rich black man treats his wife, instead of how our government treats its citizens. Or how we are about start another war. Stay focused on the real issues. Ray and his wife will be fine, but how about the families of those innocent children the police have killed? Will their mothers be fine? Wake up, or die sleeping.
