Step 2: How we should behave as believers in Christ and the body of Christ which is "the church" (not a building but a body of believers). Philippians 2:5-8 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation , and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. **Jesus was and is our example: He was and is God and yet took on the form of man/flesh and humbled Himself (meaning He gave up His authority to only obey the will of the Father. He wanted to be like us and experience the same hurts, pains, losses, hungers and temptation we face so we would know our God understands what we go through so we can go to Him now with our prayers and petitions knowing He understands our pains and feelings, wants and needs. He was even willing to fulfill the plan of dying on the cross and paying our sin debt in full. He who knew no sin and did no sin took on all the sin of the world so we could have salvation and be in heaven with Him for all eternity. Hallelujah! How can we not want to live as per His example?
