Stephanie shares: Lately I have been struggling taking my 3 yr old Asd son out..... anywhere really. All he wants to do is climb me while trying to push off of me. I cant let him down because he thinks its funny to make me chase him. I asked his OT for suggestions to help with this problem and he suggested looking into seeing a behavioral therapist or child psychologist. My son knows he is acting unacceptably, but just laughs hysterically, and I mean hysterically. He laughs at anything that causes a reaction,. If a dog barks or growls, or a cat hisses he just laughs and tries to further instigate the behavior. Same thing if someone is upset or hurt. Im not sure If psychological type therapy is the right response though since he just turned 3. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
