Steve Bernal says he won’t debate Scott Miller next month, ahead of the election in November for Monterey County Sheriff. Miller is the current sheriff and Bernal wants his job. The League of Women Voters had planned for two debates next month, but Bernal’s people said that Miller’s people sought the debates, and that made it unfair to Bernal. The League of Women Voters has facilitated all sorts of debates across the country for a century, and says they have no political bias.
