Steve Brigandis Behind The Pit Wall At Volusia Speedway Park. Its Not Over Until Its Over - Sheldon Kinser, Jr. Tops Dirk Miller In FMSA Dogfight What a night it was for Sheldon Showtime Kinser, Jr. and the #2 Jr Disaster Motorsports/Bendinrules Motorsports, LLC Special. Rarely has there been a more suspenseful win. Just minutes after his Victory Lane interview (Kinsers second in as many races.), I caught up with him to get his perspective on the nights best race, but I had to wait in line. When I did, it seemed his accomplishment was still sinking in. Showtime had just led every lap in his heat race and feature. It was a thrilling and suspenseful battle that had Dirk Miller in the Todds Tomatoes And Quality Produce Mini Sprint challenge for a lead at every twist and turn. John Moss was one of the first drivers to congratulate Kinser. He said I did a good job holding off those big motors behind me. It was rough. I felt like when I got through traffic that time, I got through better than the guys behind me and got a little lead. Things were working out slowly. Sheldons lead did stretch out briefly to only three lengths, but a near simultaneous caution bunched the field and the battle resumed bringing the crowd to their feet in anticipation of even more wheel-to-wheel, side, by side racing. Miller continued to challenge with dogged determination, skill and sportsmanship. Thats two wins in a row for Disaster Motorsports/Bendinrules Motorsports, beamed Kinser. And when weve finished a race, weve finished in the top four all season long. This race was simply spectacular.
