Steve Knight got his peace talk with members of both councils yesterday. rex got his wish, not to include deputy dog smith. People recently bought by rex should take head of that. ron smith was loyal to rex. rex threw him away as soon as he became irrelevant. Thing about these talks? wont mean crap as long as rex is mayor. rexs jealousy of Ledford will only be sated with the destruction of Jim, and rexs takeover of the city to the south. After all, think of the deals he can get his puppet master visco, with a whole other city coffer to pillage. Good rexy! Good boy! =================================== Two members from each City Council met for an hour inside state Sen. Steve Knights office on Lancaster Boulevard. The meeting was closed to the media, but Knight said they discussed common issues like crime and spurring economic development, without venturing into the more controversial topics that divide them, like Palmdales proposed power plant. Neither Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris nor Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford was present at Fridays discussion, though Knight said he hopes eventually the two rivals could be included. Rather, it was Palmdale Mayor Pro Tem Tom Lackey and Councilman Steve Hofbauer, along with Lancaster City Council members Sandra Johnson and Ken Mann, who participated in what Knight hopes is the first of several meetings with the leaders. Knight described the meeting as cordial and productive. The conflict came to a head earlier this year when Parris, as an attorney, became involved in a lawsuit brought on by a group of Palmdale residents who alleged their citys at-large municipal election system minimized the voting power of blacks and Latinos in violation of the California Voting Rights Act.
