Steve gets to come home today. He has been diagnosed with Sleep - TopicsExpress

Steve gets to come home today. He has been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea & they are sending someone to the house within the next couple of days to set up a CPAP machine for Steve. The SA Dr said that the CPAP will help lower the risk of Steve having another stroke after he gets his sleeping down right. The next step is to get him to lose weight which he needs to lose a lot. The Drs told him that he can no longer say no to me when I ask him to go for a walk with me. His cholesterol is thru the roof, so they are putting him on medication for that. Steve will be seeing Vascular-Nurologist at there clinic every 6 weeks until they are satisfied that there is less chances for another stroke. He will also have to see the S A Dr in early August & bring in the machine so they can check all the data. Steve will not be able to return to work for 7-10 days after he sees his Primary Dr. These Drs here wants Steve to see his Dr at least twice before he returns to work. But the best news is he is back to normal except he still has a little speech issue. We did find out this morning that if he shows weakness in his right arm or leg again we are to get him to the hospital. If they cannot get his strength back he will have a Bypass Surgery. A piece of the blocked artery did break off & went into his brain. The medication that was given to him helps to keep that piece from causing more bleeding in his brain. But any way I am very glad that he gets to come home today. Maybe I can get some sleep. I lost 5 pounds of worry & one more pants size from all this. Thank you everyone for your prayers. They really help Steve. BIG HUGS & SO MUCH LOVE FOR ALL OF YOU. Thank you from the Ostrander Family :-)
