Still catching up after my Holiday-Pilgrimage to Rome, half of which I got to share with Patrick Cusworth, and the last full day of which was the Feast of S. Ralph Sherwin and Companions. This couldn’t have been more appropriate before returning home, as I got to join the ‘Martyrs’ Day’ celebrations at The Venerable English College, Rome. Not only did we enjoy a beautiful Holy Mass celebrated by that brilliant and holy reformer Cardinal George Pell, whom I had the great privilege of meeting afterwards, but also veneration of the relics of Saint Martyrs such as S. Ralph Sherwin, S. Eustace White, and S. Thomas Becket of Canterbury. The sense of mission to restore the faith in England, Mary’s Dowry, was wonderful to return with, and the whole trip gave me a shot of spiritual inspiration. Thanks to Matthew OGorman, Ryan Christopher Day, and Richard Paul Marsden for the welcome hospitality, great to meet Fr. Athanasius McVay and Daniel Arasa Villar, and very enjoyable to bump into/meet up with James Bogle & Austen Ivereigh.
