Still no progress on reaching an accord that will fund the US - TopicsExpress

Still no progress on reaching an accord that will fund the US government and there are only 33 hours left on the clock. This morning a new agreement was brought to the house but as of 2 hours ago according to the NYT John Boehner announced that no decisions have been reached. The video at the top of the NYT link shows his latest comment. Among other things he said, Listen- I have made clear for months and months that the idea of, of default...uh...is wrong, and we shouldnt get anywhere close to it. I would contend that 33 hours from the first major credit default since 1814 (Im not counting the glitch of 1979) is cutting it a little close to the wire and should probably qualify as pretty darn close to it. Interestingly, the metadata for the linked NYT article is stale. As of the time I posted this, the article head reads House G.O.P. Backs Off Plan, Leaving Fiscal Talks in Limbo.
