Still not Thanksgiving 2 Seth swore and punched, answer on his phone. Do NOT go to school today! He picked up the land phone and hit his cousins extension. Come up here now! No! Not you! This was to Joshua who had reappeared, this time minus his school uniform. Where are your clothes? I took them off! Joshua shouted into his phone, seemingly unaware hed changed locations again, frantically running in tight circles. They were soaked. This isnt my bedroom! And he was gone again. Seth focused on Deckers house. The vampire was still awake; apparently Joshua ate breakfast with him in the mornings. Decker sat the kitchen counter but his focus was clearly on the upstairs as the boy bounced off the wall of his bedroom. The door to his suite unlocked and his cousin burst into the room. He must have run the entire two flights between their suites. Whats wrong? Cabot asked. Its Joshua! Seth held out his phone and hit speaker to add his cousin into the loop. Unfortunately, Cabot asked, What did the tiny terror do this time? Joshua appeared wearing a dry white shirt of his school uniform. He held phone and dark slacks in hand. He stood on his toes, inches from Cabot but a foot too short to be impressive, and raged. I am not tiny! I told you not to go to school, Seth said. Ive got a test in first period! Joshua cried. And Im going to be late. Grab him. Seth told Cabot as he realized what was coming next. Cabot caught hold of Joshua even as he asked, Whats he doing… And then both of them were gone. Back in Deckers kitchen, the vampire didnt react as Joshua and Cabot appeared in front of him and then Cabot went flying, landing in Seths bedroom in New York. Cabot lay sprawled out on the floor. Stunned. How did he do that? I have no idea. Seth stayed focused on Joshua, who seemed mystified as to where Cabot had disappeared to as he was looking under tables and behind doors. He doesnt seem to know either. Decker was still at his kitchen counter as werewolves came and went like mad yo-yos. Seth glanced at his cell phone and saw that – not surprisingly – hed lost the signal from Joshuas phone. He went to his contacts, found Deckers number, and called him instead. Decker answered his phone with: Is Cabot with you? Yes, he is. Tell Joshua that he can take a makeup test. They will allow it; thats the point of owning the damn school. And then Joshua was there, in person, pants and phone still in hand. Makeup tests are always harder and Im way behind because this is a freaking private school with high standards instead of a red neck public school. Youre guaranteed to get into Harvard. Your grades dont matter. All you need to do is make up the needed number of days – by August – and youll get a diploma. In five months, nothing from high school matters. This is Harvard. With two different buildings built by the Tatterskeins. You will get in.
