Still trying to decide what my favorite part about last nights failed event by Boston College Students for Justice in Palestine where about half the audience was some of Israels most knowledgeable and influential supporters. A close contender is the fact that when I was finally allowed to ask my question of the speaker, I was addressed by Eve Spangler by my first name. I have never directly spoken to Spangler, yet she openly addresses her distaste for me within her circles and does little to conceal her glares at me whenever she sees me, and then calls on me by name (my first name) like an old friend of hers. Eve Spangler, you are not my friend, and never will be. You are a despicable excuse for a human being, an enemy of the Jewish people and the State of Israel, and bring shame to the memory of your Holocaust-victim grandmother and your mother who escaped Austria unscathed. She has absolutely ZERO academic background or publications on the Arab-Israeli Conflict, and instead uses her Jewish identity and connection to a Holocaust victim as a credential for others to respect her testimony on the Conflict. This while claiming that using connections to the Holocaust as a means to justify anything, and claims the Holocaust is distorted to draw support for Israel despite its war crimes. She even teaches a class on the Conflict, which culminates in a mandatory trip with Birthright Unplugged, and acts as a training/recruiting program to brainwash students to become SJP cronies. Academic freedom? Yeah right.
