Stones postpone tour after Scott death The Rolling Stones have officially called off their tour of Australia and New Zealand following the death of Mick Jaggers longtime girlfriend, fashion designer LWren Scott. The band placed a statement on their official website that stated: The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry and disappointed to announce the postponement of the rest of their 14 On Fire tour of Australia and New Zealand following the death of LWren Scott. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood wish to thank all of their fans for their support at this difficult time and hope that they will fully understand the reason for this announcement. Details of the shows which have been cancelled are been listed on the website with the band saying they plan to reschedule these postponed shows at a later date. Mick Jagger has said he is struggling to understand how his long-term girlfriend LWren Scott could have ended her own life. The 49-year-old fashion designer and former model was found dead in her New York apartment on Monday in an apparent suicide. It is understood that police do not suspect foul play. In a message posted online, the Rolling Stones frontman, who has been in a relationship with her since 2001, said he will never forget his lover and best friend. The band cancelled a concert due on Wednesday in Perth, Australia following news of her death, which shocked the fashion world. Mick Jaggar said: I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her. Unconfirmed reports said 70-year-old Jagger had flown back to New York. A spokesman for Scott asked for the privacy of her family and friends to be respected. Tributes have poured in for Scott, as it emerged her British fashion company had been losing millions of pounds. The documents also show the firm owed more than 1m, despite having assets totalling a similar amount. The Rolling Stones had flown to Australia on Monday ahead of a performance at the Perth Arena, in the west of the country. No further information is available at this time, ticket holders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available, Frontier Touring said on its Facebook page. Speculation had mounted about the future of the tour following news of Scotts death, with the band due to perform six dates in Australia and New Zealand over the next three weeks. A spokesman for Mr Jagger earlier said: He is completely shocked and devastated by the news of Scotts apparent suicide. New York City Police said she was found unconscious at her home on 11th Avenue in Manhattan. She was pronounced dead on arrival by the emergency medical services, the spokeswoman said. As news broke of her death, tributes from the world of fashion and showbusiness flooded on to Twitter. Bianca Jagger, one of Mick Jaggars former loves, tweeted: Heartbroken to learn of the loss of the lovely and talented LWren Scott. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace. Fashion designer Marc Jacobs wrote: Rest in peace, LWren Scott. Youll forever be missed. Scott, who was originally called Luann Bambrough but changed her name to launch her modelling career in her teens, was brought up in Utah as a Mormon. She worked in Paris for a number of years, with the likes of Thierry Mugler and Karl Lagerfeld, then went on to return to the US as a stylist. The designer was a wardrobe consultant for films such as Eyes Wide Shut and Oceans Thirteen. She met Mick Jagger when she worked as a stylist on a photo shoot. She launched her fashion line in 2006 with fans of her work said to include Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman and Michelle Obama, and she has also designed for Banana Republic. Mick Jaggers daughter Georgia May Jagger was also in Australia for work but has cancelled a catwalk appearance in Melbourne and flew back to New York.
