The Foundation of Affection. II Of all the things that you can do for the kingdom of God, developing affection toward the Lord is the greatest. Prospering in the things of God depends on your love and commitment to living for Him. Therefore, set your affection toward God so that you may position yourself to live in His divine presence and experience supernatural progress throughout life. Affection toward God leads to prosperity. 1. Prosperity: “making satisfactory progress.” a) Spiritually as well as materially. 2. If you have not progressed beyond where you’ve been for years, something is out of place in your life. 3. Never be satisfied with circumstances in your life that are less than God’s best. 4. Your path through life should shine brighter every day (Proverbs 4:18). 5. Being affectionate makes you a conqueror, just as King David was a conqueror who was able to “shake.” 6. Delight in the Lord and His commandments, and you’ll prosper (Psalm 1:2; Psalm 112:1).
