Storm Recovery Update July 11th This will be my final large update of information. From here on in I will just post important new information, if and when it become available. Thanks for putting up with these frequent & somewhat lengthy posts, and also, thanks to those that encouraged me to continue to provide the info. Heres wishing those still without power a speedy as possible reconnect. This community has rallied together during this recovery period, and as a result our great little city will be even stronger........Mike ------------------------------------------------------------------- ·The City Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) will remain open throughout the weekend (July 11th, 12th and 13th) ·EOC hours of Operation – 0700 -1600 hours (today). ·Our two Reception/Charging Centres and Bulk Water Stations will be open today and throughout the weekend (July 11th, 12th and 13th) - 0600 – 2100 hours (6:00am – 9:00pm); Willie O’Ree (Northside) and Grant Harvey Centre (Southside); Showers, water, ice & coffee are available; also bulk water (bring your own containers) ·Fredericton Fire Department are checking apartments without power and calls involving seniors or calls for citizens with medical concerns ·Representatives from the City of Fredericton, Social Development and NB Power are setup at our Reception Centres ·Our staff and contractors have removed a number of large downed trees from several subdivisions (work will continue for several weeks) Reminders ·Stay away from downed power lines ·Odell Park remains closed to the public ·Please be cautious when using the City’s parks and trail systems as many hazard trees are still in place ·Please continue to check on your neighbors to ensure they are okay ·Report any tree hazards to our staff – 460-2038 ·Report any downed lines to NB Power – 1-800-663-6272 ·Our EOC number is 460-2996 ·Curbside pickup of yard debris caused by the storm (trees/leaves/branches) will occur the week of July 28th to August 01st (Tentative). Pools (open): Henry Pool, Queen Square Poo, Royal Road Pool, Riverside Wading Pool, Kent Street Wading Pool, Barkers Point Wading Pool, Lincoln Wading Pool, Wilmot Wading Pool
