Stormy is a live wire that Ive owned since June. She gaits beautifully and is really sweet so Ive set the goal to calm her down and have her walking, gaiting, and cantering on a light rein. She spooks easily so Im doing a lot of desensitizing. Here instead of suddenly approaching her, I actually walk away from her and then tease her with the plastic bag. Tomorrow, Im going to get into her space and start rubbing her with it. I think this is a great desensitizing exercise that shows horses have space too!
