Stormy weather this morning. Slight risk for severe storms with damaging winds and flooding rains tonight. Active weather with frequent threats for thunderstorms will be the story through the end of the week. A return of a warm, moist, unstable airmass combined with frequent weather systems cresting the top of a large upper level ridge of high pressure will push thunderstorm complexes from the Mississippi Valley into the Great Lakes today into Friday, and likely into portions of the weekend as well. A severe weather threat exists both today and Friday, including localized heavy rain and flooding for those areas that get hit with multiple rounds of storms. ALTHOUGH CONFIDENCE IS LOW IN THE TIMING AND PLACEMENT OF THE STORMS...THERE IS A RISK OF A FEW STRONG TO DAMAGING WIND GUSTS IF THE STORMS ARE WELL ORGANIZED AS THEY ENTER THE AREA. THE STORMS WILL ALSO BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN...WHICH MAY COMBINE WITH THE EFFECTS OF RECENT STORMS TO CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING. If you have been missing the heat...
