Story taken from the book How To Protect Yourself From Psychic attack -The Deceit of Demons - This case I witnessed some twenty-five years ago. It concerned an esoteric group who were being magically assaulted by a rival group - for the alleged ownership of a rare occult book. I had friends amongst the group who owned the book, and so I saw some of this at first-hand. The rival group was led by a sorceress, named Patty: who claimed that the precious book should be hers. This was based upon her claim that Inner Plane entities had revealed to Patty that she had been the books owner - in a previous incarnation. Now, when two mages, or two occult groups, go to war against one another other, the magical battles are particularly fierce. And, since both sides are skilled in defence and attack, in parry and thrust, the battles can be prolonged. After the initial skirmishes - designed to test each others defenses - serious ongoing combat ensued. And, except for fallow periods over the Equinox tides, this war was pretty consistent for about two years. My own experience over decades, has brought me to the understanding that - in most cases - when a leader of a group, or an individual magician, magically attacks another human being, it is a sure sign that the attacker has strayed from the Light. They may dress up the reason for the attack with holy talk; they may reason it through based upon the limited insights of an incarnate personality; and the group (or individual) may think that they are servants of the Light - but to attack another person - astrally or physically - is of the Shadow. Such things are always inspired by Shedim and Qlippoth - by demons. There is no authentic spiritual justification for it. It is in everyway as bad as: gang violence, terrorism, or sectarian-based crusades. In the Magic-of-Light (Theurgy), if an adept does have to draw the Sword of Geburah to defend others, then it is the dark entities (who are working through the attackers) who are neutralized, not the human agents. And, once their power-sources are cut off, the human attackers will become magically impotent. In this way, there always remains the possiblilty of the former attackers learning from their errors, turning back to the Light, and making good. Back to the case in hand - The attacks from Pattys group became very dangerous - the most common phenomenon was combustion, things catching fire for inexplicable reasons. This usually it is the result of attackers intention to murder by magic those whom they are attacking. In this case it seems that she had decided that, If I cannot have the book, then no one will! Through remote-viewing, we learnt that the Patty the Sorceress had invoked one of the greater Spirits of the Infernal Hierarchy, an archd emon - whom tradition states - is one of the Fallen angels. Patty had made a pact with an archdemon, promising it whatever souls it could grasp, by destroying the group-members and their headquarters. This is the same as somebody taking out a contract - by hiring a professional hit man, an assassin - to kill the another person. This was a very serious situation because archd emons are extremely powerful, coming into being even before the physical universe did. It was absolutely essential that we discover the identity of the archademon whom Patty had summoned. With the name of the archandemon, there was a some chance that we could be defended from it. Through work on the Inner Planes and by consulting its great Library of Wisdom, the identity and name of the archdemon was revealed. This particular Lord of Hellfire was also a Spirit of Falsehood unless it was confined within a Triangle-of-the-Art, no truthtfull communication with it could take place. So, the only option was a full ceremonial evocation of this archdemon - and attempt to nullify its past with Patty. A working of this kind was no small undertaking, and required great purity of intention and magical skill. So the group prepared their temple for the operation of an infernal evocation. The Magic Circle - fortified by the Divine Names and those of certain holy Angels - was created; then a Triangle-of-the-Art was erected and placed beyond the circle-of-safety. The Triangle-of-the-Art is an equilateral triangle containing three specific Names of God, and the syllables of the name of Archangel Michael, the Commander of the heavenly hosts. Then the full ritual team undertook the Conjuration of the Fallen and Disgraced Ones -a working that requires great discipline coupled with intense effort. It was successful. The archdemon materialized within the Triangle-of-the-Art - although it had to be compelled to take upon it a fair shape: since demons like to horrify the onlookers with their appearance (they are skilled shape-shifters). Demons can manifest in any form and since they read the subconscious of the minds of the people there, they will often take on a form they know will terrify the viewers. This is why, in the invocations, they are always compelled to take on a fair and pleaSing form. Then the archdemon was interrogated, compelled by Divine Names to speak only the truth; it resisted at first, but it was threatened also by the River of Fire - which annihilates all disobediant spirits. So, reluctantly the archd emon revealed the full details of the pact with Patty - what animal sacrifices she had made to it, and where they had been buried, with blood talismans. The presiding Magus then told the archdemon that the pact was going to be nullified, and the talismans rendered void. And that the members of this group were henceforth under the protection of the Almighty ONE, God Most High. This Prince of Hell was not happy with this - after all it had looking forward to tormenting and feasting on the suffering of this group of people - but now it knew that Omnipotence was now set against it, and that it would not be able to fulfil the contract. In all likelihood it would probably then return and render the person who had sent it. Now, usually during the closing of such a ceremony, the conjured spirit is dismissed with, what is called: the License-to-Depart. The correct proper formula is: . .. I bid thee, return to thine own proper realm, causing harm to none: But the magus leading this ceremony aCcidentally omitted this vital part. In fairness to him, it had been a long and strenuous ceremony, and his concentration had been exerted to the uttermost - and when a difficult ceremony is coming to its close, there is the temptation to rush. Unfortunately for him, the archdemon took advantage of this lapse of protocol - and once free to quit the triangle - with a sudden leap the archdemon overshot the boundaries of the Triangle-of-the-Art, pierced and shattered the magiC circle, and attacked the Magus. To onlookers, looking with physical sight alone, the Magus looked as if he were having a fit - arched back, discolored face, fighting for breath. But with inner sight, one could see the archdemon straddling the Magus, its taloned hands squeezing his neck. Fortunately the other senior group members instantly took charge, and using the greater Names-of-Power, they forced the archdemon to hack down into the Pit. The magus himself was some time recovering from this misadventure; and I shouldnt think that he is ever forgot again to do the proper form of the License-to-Depart in any subsequent ceremony. The next day, the group went and dug up the blood-talismans, de consecrated them, and then consigned them to purifying fire. Later that week, Pattys home inexplicably caught fire. But her body was never found, and she has not been heard of since.
