Strain and Counterstrain STRAIN AND COUNTERSTRAIN is an amazingly simple yet powerful manual therapy technique. It was developed by American Osteopath Dr. Lawrence Jones in the 1950’s and since then has been used extensively by doctors and therapists all over the world. The technique involves locating tender points in the muscles and joints and then re-calibrating the proprioceptors with the purpose of establishing normal muscle tone and joint function…in only 60 seconds. The treatment of key muscle and joint tender points relating to both the spine and extremities will be addressed in this workshop. In addition to hands-on learning, some instruction will also be given regarding the integration of STRAIN AND COUNTERSTRAIN into common treatment protocols.
