Strange encounter the other night with a very disoriented pollinator - turned out that one of the zucchini flowers I brought home still contained a buzzing bumblebee happily gorging on the nectars of that flower but then like a child being born into the world, the bee found itself indoors in artificial life and it seemed to know who exactly was responsible for this terrible shift of terrain - me. Fortunately, I was able to capture him midair with a cup and a piece of paper and then left him out the screen door of our faux balcony...but the bee promptly decided to attach itself to the outside of the screen door, looking at me, as if wanting some answers, or atonement. I offered both...
