Strange how I only feel liftest in the context of south-based socialist movements - from Palestine to Cuba to South Africa, never ever in the case of western socialism, marred with intellectual elitism and sense of superiority - they constantly have something to say but little action often follows. In fact they use their platforms, Gaurdian and such to chastise popular socialist movements in the so called third world for failing at this or that, but rarely do they take chances to mobilize and affectivly challenge the status quo themselves. Of course I am not speaking about individuals but the collective mindset that rendered US-EU leftism a mere conversation starter as opposed to solid grassroots movements ready to fight and, if needed lose everything to achieve social justice and more.
