Strategies for weight reduction: • Shop for food only after eating & buy items from a planned list • Make eating meals a family affair and singular activity • Serve food on a smaller plate • Chew each mouthful thoroughly • Concentrate on eating & enjoying food • Do nothing else while eating (e.g. Watching TV) • Leave the table as soon as the meal is complete. • Differentiate between hunger and the urge to eat • Set realistic goals for improved eating and weight loss • Exercise (walk/meditation/yoga) at least 3 times a week • Plan rewards for goals achieved.
