Stray observations from todays chapel: I envision finals here as a white girl wearing Uggs with a pumpkin spice latte who cant even. Could you have picked a cheaper, more contrived joke? Some originality or cleverness would be much appreciated. Self-centeredness on our society is not a result of increased technological capability or the new prevalence of social media. It is the result of the Individualism that is an ever-present message in our society. You cannot bash individualism in point two and proceed to bash people putting emphasis on the feelings of others in point three and think that youre remaining philosophically consistent. What if I identify with one of your examples but dont see it as a problem? Theres nothing wrong with being tired and needing to take a break. I am in fact important enough to warrant vying for attention. And I see nothing wrong with wanting to adapt a message to changing times and shifting principles (theres a reason only radical Christians use Leviticus to support their arguments).
